Mechatronic engineering is a discipline that combines mechanics, electronics and computing. Mechatronic engineers may design, construct and maintain intelligent machines, micro-machines, smart structures, intelligent systems, control systems and consumer products such as cameras and washing machines. Alternatively, they may apply these skills to a fully automated robotic assembly line, or they may be involved with defence technology and automated systems.
The Master of Engineering comprises a foundation year and an advanced studies year. An applicant for admission to the program of study for the Master of Education shall have qualified for a three or four year degree at the University of Adelaide, or an undergraduate degree from another institution which is accepted by this Faculty for the purpose as equivalent.

The degree delivers a current theoretical foundation and the opportunity to develop practical skills through hands-on experiential learning.
